A Thousand Years of Dreams

A jrpg released for the XBOX 360, Lost Odyssey was a 50+ hour long story involving a handful of robust characters. What made this title stand out from others within the genre are the Thousand Years of Dreams stories told mostly by the main character, Kaim. He is an immortal who has lived on the planet over 1000 years, but at the start of the game, has had his memory wiped. Living for that long has changed Kaim as he begins to remember his past and reflects on stories that depict the horrors of war, the shortness & frailty of life, and the accounts of normal people who are able to touch others' lives in extraordinary ways by simple actions.

A rough description of format from the story from lostodyssey.wikia:

A Thousand Years of Dreams is a collection of short stories that tell of Kaim's past experiences. The stories become available for reading at various points during the game. Reading the stories isn't necessarily required, but will surely provide important information regarding Kaim's past.

The stories contain a variety of characters and each story is different from the next. Each is presented in a different style, accompanied by a musical score, sound effects, and background imagery. Some of them will make you laugh, others cry, but for any hardcore fan it brings a welcoming break from the main storyline and adds character to Kaim.

These stories truly enhanced my experienced playing this game, but I had trouble finding them fully typed out on the web without squinting at a youtube video.

Feel free to comment about the stories if you wish. Enjoy.
